Welcome

Come and discover the contemplative beauty of Swallow Hill Bed and Breakfast twenty minutes due west of Northampton, Massachusetts. Your host and Nutmeg, the friendly Springer Spaniel, will welcome you to the casual and comfortable atmosphere. Situated on sixteen acres, the house sits on a slight rise at the edge of an open meadow where the swallows swoop in summer, and with expansive views towards the Berkshire Hills.

Swallow Hill is located in the scenic hill town of Chesterfield, home of the Chesterfield Gorge. Thirteen miles from Northampton and Smith College, 35 to 40 minutes from Amherst, Hampshire College, Mt. Holyoke, and Jacob's Pillow and just over an hour to Tanglewood, the house offers a gentle peace, simple elegance, and a feeling of home.

The most spectacular Spring

Day after day of sun greets morning guests here at Swallow Hill and often we have gorgeous sunsets at day's end. Daffodils bloom, the cherry tree is resplendent and flowers are popping up in the perennial borders. I've had to mow once -- way earlier than usual. Plan a weekend trip to Swallow Hill in the Massachusetts hilltowns. Reserve two nights in June for a special rate of $150 for two for two nights with a yummy breakfast each morning,  (holiday weekends excepted). Or have the house to yourselves, bring another couple with you and book both bedrooms for two nights, with two breakfasts, for four people for $260.  Hike from the house, walk the Chesterfield Gorge, fish, bike, or simply sit and read on the front porch, listen to music, relax and catch up on sleep. Sample local eateries, explore nearby museums, dine in Northampton. Whatever your fancy, Swallow Hill will make your stay memorable.
